About

Software Engineer | Backend Developer | AI/ML Practitioner
Hi! I’m Sana.
I am a Software Engineer by trade, specializing in Backend Engineering and System Design, with a focus on the industrial integration of Machine Learning models.
Most of my recent work sits at the intersection of robust backend development and applied AI - building APIs and hybrid search engines (text, vector, geolocation), and experimenting with Computer Vision.
Occasionally, I find time to:
- Optimize local inference for open-source Large Language Models under tight hardware constraints.
- Build Computer Vision detection systems, such as car-inspect-ai, which identifies individual vehicle parts from a photo - a first building block toward automated inspection.
- Build AI-driven conversational assistants combining semantic search, full-text search, and geolocation, like laplace-nearby, a WhatsApp assistant for finding nearby businesses.
- Study modern computer system architectures, MLOps lifecycles, and high-performance computing (HPC) software optimization.
In my free time, I love recreating dishes I see on social media. It’s my favorite way to unplug from screens, fuel my creativity, and share great food. I also enjoy exploring new tech stacks and reading systems engineering blogs, my favorite one being ByteByteGo.
