About
Lead AI, Data & Software Engineer | Distributed Systems Architect
Hi! I’m Sana.
I am a Senior Software & AI Engineer specializing in System Design, Data Governance, and MLOps. I build robust backend infrastructures and deploy sovereign AI systems, from API design and hybrid search engines (text, vector, geolocation) to production Computer Vision models.
Most of my recent work sits at the intersection of traditional software engineering and applied AI, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and data ownership at every stage of the pipeline.
Concretely, I spend my time:
- Designing and deploying self-hosted AI architectures: RAG, vector search, and local inference optimization for open-source LLMs under tight hardware constraints.
- Building Computer Vision detection systems, such as car-inspect-ai, which identifies individual vehicle parts from a photo - a first building block toward automated inspection (YOLO11n, PyTorch).
- Building AI-driven conversational assistants combining semantic search, full-text search, and geolocation, like laplace-nearby, a WhatsApp assistant for finding nearby businesses (PostgreSQL, pgvector, PostGIS).
- Studying modern high-performance computing (HPC) architectures and software optimization.
Away from the screen, I love recreating dishes I see on social media and exploring new tech stacks - I regularly read ByteByteGo to keep up with System Design.
